I decided it was time for a change and to lose the extra 10 pounds that had found me over the past several years. Although I’d become a barre and pilates enthusiast and a cardio junkie, I wasn’t making the progress I’d hoped for, so I decided to mix things up and join AmpCamp – a bonus came when a friend decided to take the challenge with me. At first, I won’t lie, I was extremely intimidated. When I walked into the studio, I was surrounded by what I perceived to be mostly young thin girls and an instructor with a rockin’ fit body, and I thought “how in the world am I going to do this?” Then I heard about the nutrition change and thought “for sure these people are CRAZY!” After I managed to not vomit during my first class, I walked out feeling exhausted but strong and empowered. Each week I found myself working harder to prove to myself that I could, that I had grown. Each week I looked forward to the at-home workouts and even more to the weekly group workouts. Joscelyn was amazing. She was completely dedicated to helping me establish faith in myself and supporting me throughout my journey. She responded to emails promptly, offered tips willingly, and spoke words of encouragement during each encounter. With her commitment and guidance, Joscelyn made the journey possible and my goals attainable: I dropped 11 pounds, lost 10 inches, and gained tone and strength that even surprised me!

With session one over, I realized that I wanted to do another eight weeks. Although I’ve found myself busier than normal and haven’t completely stuck to the program (wine has touched my palate more often than it should), I’ve continued to build strength and endurance and have seen continued transformations in my body and my attitude about “healthy.” The AmpCamp program, along with Joscelyn, has had such a positive influence on me: I think before I eat. I crave exercise and water. I want to be better, and now, thanks to AmpCamp and Joscelyn, I know I can continue to achieve my best.
