Q: I’ve never been to Fusion, what class should I start with?
A: You’re welcome to start with any class, we have too much fun to have a lot of tight rules! If you’re looking for high intensity cardio, check out any of our classes that say ‘wear sneakers’ on the schedule or our Fusion Fly spin studio in our Overland Park location, listed on our full schedule too. Looking for a full body toning & sculpting hour? Come to the classes we started with – Fusion, Barre Intensity, and Fusion Mix. These will introduce you to the Fusion style and give you a good idea of what we’re all about.
Q: Do you have locker rooms?
A: We have plenty of space to change clothes before or after class but we currently do not have showers.
Q: How do I reserve a spot for class? Do I have to sign up ahead of time?
A: It is highly recommended that you sign up for class ahead of time by registering online. Walk-ins are welcome, but only if the class is not already full – Click on the pink ‘sign up for class!’ button in the top right corner to sign up and/or see if a class is full.
Q: Should I register for childcare?
A: You should always reserve a spot for childcare – one spot for each child. We are only allowed 16 kiddos per session so sometimes it does fill up. Like classes, walk-ins are allowed as long as we have the room! ($3 per child or $40 for a 20-pack.)
Q: What should I wear and bring to class?
A: Wear what makes you feel comfortable! See descriptions for classes that require sneakers – you do not need socks for our barre classes. All of our classes require a yoga mat, so bring one if you have it (we have community rental mats for first timers for $2) – and you’ll also want a water bottle and sweat towel (yes, seriously, you will need a sweat towel!) Please note we do not sell bottled water, but we do have water coolers to fill up your own reusable bottle as well as sell 2 types of water bottles.
Q: What can I expect?
A: A full body workout, lots of sweat, and lots of smiles when it’s over (and the desire to come back soon!) Our classes are intense and offer a challenge to any fitness level – whether this is the first time you’ve walked through our studio door or you’re a marathon runner. We encourage each client to push past their comfort zone – first try the move and then do the modification if needed – clients are always amazed at their strength when they push a little harder. Classes start and end on time. Check out class descriptions for more details on specific classes.
Q: How often should I attend classes?
A: We recommend 3 or more times per week. We also recommend switching up classes – sneakers with non-sneakers, and Fly, too – so we can continue to “shock your body”.
Q: Where do I park?
A: For the Overland Park studio, park in our parking lot in front of the studio or west of the studio near the Rio Theater. Please do not park at Overland Park TV. For the Mission Farms studio, feel free to park anywhere within the Mission Farms parking lot. At Corbin Park, we have spots directly outside the studio, or you can park in the surrounding parking lots or our parking garage! The entrance is to the right of Nails and Wax (near Ya Ya’s restaurant.)
Q: Do guys ever attend class?
A: Yes, and we encourage men to attend. Our philosophy on exercise is beneficial to both women and men – and we guarantee a challenge to both sexes. Men may survive the whole class and love it! We also offer a spin class called Fly with Your Guy – this is a great first timer if your guy would like more men in the class.
Q: Are your classes like any of the trendy classes celebrities are doing?
A: Current celeb favorites are Physique 57 (similar to Barre Intensity), the Tracey Anderson Method (similar to our work in Fusion with bands), and Insanity (similar to any of our ‘sneakers’ classes). We stay on top of all the latest fitness trends and bring them to you – plus we were named in October 2014 as a Top 5 “Up and Coming Studio” by Shape Magazine!
Q: I missed (or late cancelled) a class – will I be charged??
A: Likely yes. As stated on the memberships, all no shows or late cancels are subject to being charged $10. Our policy is: all classes must be cancelled at least 2 hours in advance, except 5a, 5:30a, 6a, and ALL spin classes must be cancelled at least 12 hours in advance. No shows may be refunded for situations such as speeding tickets (you were trying to make it), city-wide power outages and having a baby. Please respect that we can’t refund for every cold caught, baby wake up or alarm mishap…Thanks for understanding as we want everyone who possibly can get a workout in with us to have a chance to do so!
Q: I registered for a class and it put me on the wait list. Now what?
A: You will get an email when you’re added to the class – our wait lists move fast so you have an excellent chance of getting in anytime you’re on a wait list. When you receive the email, you have a spot in class – no need to confirm. Please make sure to cancel your wait list reservation if you’re no longer able to attend class – we work hard at trying to get everyone in! Our cancellation policy is: if you are added to the wait list 2 or more hours in advance (or before 10p the night before for 5a, 5:30a, and 6a classes) – you are responsible for your spot as a normal reservation and subject to the late cancel/no show fee. If you are added after these times you will not be charged.
